Fuel Bulletin - 10/27/2009

October 27, 2009

Attn: Intermodal/Operation Manager

Dear Valued Customer,

In an effort to pass along additional cost savings to our clients, IMS has maintained our fuel surcharge at 8 % since March of this year. We understand the current economic climate is difficult for our clients and therefore decided not to increase our fuel surcharge even though the carriers throughout the country were consistently increasing theirs. We have been working diligently with our carriers nationally to minimize this added expense and therefore your overall cost.

Unfortunately over the past few weeks the diesel fuel national average has increased rapidly and consistently with no signs of leveling off. As a result we can not delay an increase any longer.

Therefore effective Monday November 2, 2009 our fuel surcharge will be 12% for all truck moves performed outside of the Pacific Northwest (PNW). We have noted a significant increase in this area of the country and rather than raise our fuel nationally to account for this, we decided to implement a regional fuel surcharge of 16% for truck moves performed in the PNW. Notification of fuel surcharge on moves involving rail service will be sent out shortly.

To obtain the National Daily Average Diesel Fuel cost you can call (202) 586-6966 or click here.

The Fuel Surcharge will appear as a separate accessorial item on your invoice.

We at Intermodal Management System are asking for your understanding and cooperation at this time. We will monitor this situation closely and will try to minimize you costs as much as possible. Should you have any questions or need to file special quotes for past or upcoming moves please don’t hesitate to call us.

Sincerely yours,

Intermodal Management System
