When initiating a move, IRIS takes over to make the process easy.
The process begins with a rate quote. Upon initiating the dispatch process,
information from the quote is copied to the dispatch screen. Information,
such as supplier/receiver, port/CY, or empty location address, is entered
only once to our system. It is then recorded in our database to be retrieved
for future moves. Specific information per move (i.e. container number, shipping
line, BOL/Booking) is simply filled in once per shipment, regardless of the
number of intermodal connections needed.
For your convenience, the dispatch
form can be partially filled in and saved, later to be retrieved. Prior to
transmission IRIS will perform a check to ensure that all information required
to perform the move is complete.
At the click of a mouse the information
is transferred. A confirmation number is automatically generated and returned
to you as verification that information has been received. IMS then executes
the move.
