Q:
Why can't I download a pdf file?
A:
You may need to download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader to view pdf files (see our requirements).
Due to a security enhancement in Windows XP SP2, to
protect users from automatic download prompts generated by rogue websites, you may see an Information bar at the top of your browser window. To download the file
you need to click the Information bar and select the "Download file" option to download the file. This is the safest workaround you can follow. To prevent the
Information bar from being displayed while downloading files, you can try adding this website to the Trusted Zone in Internet Options, Security dialog. Automatic
Prompting for file download is enabled by default for Trusted Zone domains. It is recommended that you add a website to Trusted Zone only if you
know and trust the website.
Ultimately, you can also stop the Information bar from blocking ALL file and software downloads as follows:
Click to open Internet Explorer.
Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
Click the Security tab, and then click Custom level .
Do one or both of the following:
To turn off the Information bar for ActiveX controls, scroll to the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section of the list,
and then under Automatic Prompting for ActiveX controls, click Enable.
To turn off the Information bar for file downloads, scroll to the Downloads section of the list, and then under Automatic prompting for file downloads, click Enable.
Click OK, click Yes to confirm that you want to make the change, and then click OK again.
